The unpredictable spring weather caused us to reschedule our session three times, until we finally had a gorgeous May afternoon. It was worth the wait so that I could met Val, Geoff and little Elle in Elmhurst to photograph Elle’s one year photos. I love photographing families that like theirs; they were singing, dancing, and laughing ….. all of which created amazing candid moments rather than posed photos. Our time together was oh, so, sweet.
Both were business majors at Notre Dame for over a year before they crossed paths on campus. Josh and Arianna were at r&b night, an unlikely place for both of them, when Arianna caught Josh’s gaze. Like a true southern gentleman, Josh walked Arianna back to her dorm room that night, and he couldn’t help but think how special Arianna was. It only took Arianna a few dates, many adorable text messages and one really perfect conversation at Starbucks to realize Josh was the guy.
The leaves danced throughout the air and pumpkins graced the doorsteps along the streets of the University of Kansas. It was Halloween, and Nora was setup on a blind date to a fraternity Halloween party by some friends. Little did she know that beneath a giant teddy bear costume stood her future husband, John.
Their blind date led to endless nights together as they navigated the KU campus, studied for exams and celebrated graduation. After college, they packed their bags and together moved to Chicago where John asked Nora to marry him five years later overlooking the city they love.
Nora and John are planning a wedding in Tulsa this November, but first they wanted to document their engagement in Chicago.
