My heart is bursting at the seems to share some photos of the new love in my life. Friday, Phil and I drove down to Peoria to pick up this little guy from Paw Pad Goldendoodles … the most amazing breeders. The past few days have been full of restless nights of sleep, constant cleaning of accidents in the house, and telling him “no” what feels like a million and one times.
He gets into everything, and I am terrified he is going to chew up everything in our house or eat something he shouldn’t that I cannot leave his side for more than 3 minutes. But the snuggles on the couch, the puppy kisses, and THIS FACE … well, it makes it all worth it. Clifton entered our lives and filled an emptiness that I didn’t even know I had. MEET CLIFTON.
We knew Clifton was our puppy when we went to meet him at 6 weeks when he kissed me as Phil was photographing us together. That kiss sealed the deal, and I knew he was our guy. The two weeks we waited for him were torture.
My parent’s Westie, Bentley, wasn’t thrilled to have Clifton at the house, but he has been teaching Clifton things like walking up the stairs, where to go potty, and how to sneak his little butt up on the top of the couch.
Clifton is an F1b mini goldendoodle from the Paw Pad Goldendoodles. His dad, Levi, is a mini poodle and his mom, Emme, is a standard goldendoodle.
We named Clifton after our favorite beach in South Africa, Clifton Beach. We knew we wanted to name our first puppy after one of our favorite travel destinations, so when we fell in love with South Africa, we knew his name would remind us of the country we love so much.
Having a puppy has been such an amazing experience. I am not going to lie, it is hard to get mad at this face. And when he cries because he doesn’t want to sleep in his crate, I might cave in more than Phil. I just want to cuddle this little fluff ball all day and night long.
Don’t worry …. there will be lots more photos of this guy gracing the blog now. For some behind-the-scenes photos of life with Clifton be sure to follow me on Instagram.
He is so cute! He is going to be such a good city dog.
Love him!
Your photos are so great! I can't get over how much he looks like his sister! They have almost the exact same coloring and face :) Thanks for sharing!!

Just adorable. Loved the big yawn. Have fun. Raising a puppy can be intense; but it goes fast, and you end up with a lifelong best friend.
These photos are fantastic! Just a hint, say Leave It instead of No. Works so much better with the puppy that I am raising right now.
Beautiful puppy. Enjoy every minute with Clifton. He is precious.
Love Love Love!!! Can't wait to puppy sit!!
xoxo
