I couldn’t have hoped for a more beautiful Saturday in May than the day we had for Laura and Jim’s wedding. The sun was shining. The weather was warm … but not too warm. The air … full of love.

Laura and Jim married in front of their friends and family at the historic, and beautiful, Assumption Catholic Church in Chicago. The church was absolutely stunning and warm with happiness as these two promised to be together in good times and bad … regardless of whatever life throws their way.

They are the type of couple who work because they are different. Laura is a city girl …. loving the hustle and bustle of the Chicago streets while Jim is a more mellow guy. He loves the outdoors and lots of space. They balance the other out. They are each other’s yin to their yang.

Laura + Jim, I hope you enjoying Bora Bora and taking time to soak up your new titles as husband and wife. Thank you for allowing me to document your marriage and making me feel so welcome among your friends and family. The day was so special, and I hope that the years ahead are full of much love and happiness.

The morning started at Laura’s amazing Chicago condo which has the most incredible views of Navy Pier.

All of Laura’s bridesmaids were beyond sweet and made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. It was so wonderful to see one of my favorite old co-workers, Heidi, who is Laura’s cousin and her matron-of-honor.

The inside of Assumption Catholic Church in River North is simply stunning.

Jim and his groomsmen are rugby players & fans, so they made sure they incorporated their rugby ball into some of the photos. I thought it was a football …. now I know the difference … thanks, gentlemen! :)

Laura is beautiful inside and out. I mean hello, gorgeous!

I LOVE when I get to photograph at the Art Institue gardens. I don’t think there is a more romantic location in the city. I could shoot here …. every. single. day and still love it.

Jim’s nickname is Rhino … so the chocolate rhinoceros favors were a perfect representation of the new Mr. and Mrs.
