Let me just start by saying Kate and Carl are a dream to work with. Weeks prior to the wedding, Kate, who is somewhat type A (just like me!) sent me over a 10-page document with a wedding schedule broken into 15 minutes intervals. I was so happy, I might have cried. Kate and Carl had planned every detail perfectly including so much time for photos (which Nicole and I loved!). Now some might think that a bride like that would be a bit of a bridezilla, but Kate … is so, so, so far from that.

You see, Kate and Carl are literally the two nicest people I have met ever. They were so happy throughout the whole day. Both were beyond calm, didn’t worry over the little things and were beaming with smiles from the time I arrived until I left.

Kate and Carl love with all of their hearts. Their love is genuine. It is true. And when these two look at each other … no matter if they are in a crowded room or with just each other … you can tell they are only focused on each other. It is the type of love that every relationship should have. And the type of love that is so perfect to document.

Kate and Carl wanted to have a first look before their ceremony, and it was such a special moment for them. Both of their reactions are priceless plus it allowed us to get most of their photos out of the way before the ceremony.

Kate and Carl got married at the historic Century Memorial Church at the Naper Settlement.

Kate placed flowers and a picture of her late mother in the front row of the church in honor of her.

Kate and Carl love the outdoors, so they opted to have a tree planting ceremony. The tree will eventually be planted in their yard so they can enjoy it for years to come. Following the ceremony, we headed to downtown Naperville for some more photos.  The grounds at the Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge as amazing. I could shoot here all day long and then some.
