It was Saturday night, and Jon was hanging out with his friends at a local bar. Over beers, a few of his friends started talking about Match.com mentioning that they had recently joined the dating website. Jon was intrigued. He was tired of trying to meet someone at a bar, so he thought he would give it a try.
Laura saw Jon’s profile, thought he was cute, and sent him a message. Neither really remember what the message said, but it led to a phone call which led to grabbing drinks at Kirkwood in Lincoln Park.
It was their first date, and Laura and Jon talked about everything … including those topics you shouldn’t : religion, politics, past relationships, etc. Their chemistry was instant. One date turned into another … and another … and soon the two knew they had found their match.
I met Jon, Laura and Nala (their adorable pup) at Olive Park for some golden hour engagement photos.
Laura and Jon are the cutest puppy parents. Nala is the center of their world, and it made me so happy to be in the company of them.
Laura is Stephanie’s sister (you may remember Stephanie and Billy’s Chicago engagement from this summer), and I couldn’t be more excited to document both of their weddings next year.
We practically had all of Olive Park to ourselves for our engagement photos.
We had an unseasonably warm October day for their engagement session. It was nearly 70 degrees, and I was delighted.
Laura and Jon are planning a fall wedding at Cafe Brauer, and I couldn’t be more excited to be apart of their wedding day.
A favorite ….
Olive Park has incredible views of the Chicago skyline. It is one of my favorite locations in Chicago for photos and this photo sums up why.
Jon is the type of guy who you instantly feel at ease around. He is outgoing, fun, and beyond kind.
Laura has this energy about her that is contagious. She is bubbly and super sweet.
And I’ll leave you with this one … one of the last shots from the shoot and one of my favorites.
