Ok, stripping down to your sexiest lingerie in front of a basic stranger and taking sexy photos doesn’t seem like most people’s idea of fun.

I get it.

But a boudoir shoot is an a-maz-ing wedding gift to your husband-to-be (and to yourself).

Let’s face it. You have likely been cutting carbs and working out to get the perfect wedding bod, so why not celebrate how gorgeous you are just before you walk down the aisle with some boudoir photos.

I’m sure you can come up with a million excuses for why you SHOULDN’T do a boudoir session, so here are six reasons you SHOULD consider booking a boudoir shoot — and why you won’t regret it.

1. To show off your wedding bod

You have been putting in extra workouts and skipping desserts. Your diet game is strong, and you look (and feel!) a-maz-ing! There is no better time than now to strip down and show off that body you have been working so hard on. My advice : schedule a shoot 2 -3 months before your wedding. You will look great and you won’t be worried about the hundreds of little things on your to-do list.

2. To give him an unforgettable gift

Every guy wants to have photos of his smokin’ hot wife looking like a Victoria Secret model. Imagine the look on his face when you give him sexy, romantic photos of you. Whether you opt for a handful of prints, a custom-designed album or just the digital images (hint : save a few for a surprise “thinking about you” text message), this is one gift, I promise you he won’t want to return. Give it to him the night before your wedding so he isn’t around all his friends, and he won’t be able to wait to see you in the morning.

 

3. To get comfortable in front of the camera

If you are anxious about how you will look in your wedding photos and you haven’t worked with your photographer for an engagement session, a boudoir session is a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera. Your photographer will pose you so that you look amazing, and you will feel extra prepared for your wedding photos.

4. You get to go shopping / show of all that lingerie you got

We all LOVE a reason to go shopping, and a boudoir session is a perfect excuse to order some gorgeous lingerie. You can use it for your session and save it for your honeymoon. Plus, your closest friends are likely already spoiling you with lacy lingerie and silk robes at your bachelorette party, so you now you can play dress up and show it all off.

5. You are perfect how you are

We are our own worst critic, and sometimes all we see are the “flaws’ we think we have. But I promise you, the people who love you the most think you are pretty amazing and perfect as you are. So instead of worrying about losing a few more pounds or the flab on your arm, capture your perfect body how it is right now.

6. It will empower you

A lot of times, brides will book a session because they want to do it for their other half. But once you go through the experience, you realize how amazing you feel. When you get glammed up, put on something lacy and pose for the camera, you will feel confident and gorgeous. It might initially be about your fiancee, but a boudoir session is also a gift to yourself.
