Last month, I had the pleasure of second shooting for one of my favorite photographers and friend … Jill of Jill Tiongco Photography. Whenever Jill and I work together, I know it is going to be an amazing day. Elyce and Dan’s wedding was exactly that … and more.
From the moment I arrived at Dan’s childhood home, I witnessed so much love and excitement. I admit, I get a little nervous when I first walk into the groom prep location, but Dan and his groomsmen and family made me feel right at home and eased any anxiety I had. In no time, we were making jokes and laughing right up until the moment we had to leave.
The day was warm, but overcast … the type of day where you think “if it has to rain, please rain after the formal portraits”. Yet the grey skies did not stress Elyce and Dan one bit. After they saw each other as Elyce gracefully walked down the aisle, they were both all smiles and completely smitten with each other … even when we had to sneak shelter from the raindrops during their bride and groom portraits.
What color the grey skies lacked, the details of the day made up for. There was the gorgeous stained glass in St. John Fisher, different shades of purple for each bridesmaid’s dress, fluffy cotton candy and stunning purple and green flowers. Congratulations Elyce and Dan! I enjoyed every moment of documenting your special day.
When I second shoot, I love being able to hang back with the bride and her Dad (and Mom) to get the last few moments before she walks down the aisle. It can be some of the most emotional moments ….
The Ridge Country Club in Chicago made the perfect location for the formal portraits … the location was just AMAZING.
These are some of my favorites from the day …. I mean how stinkin’ cute are these two?
