Snow flurried outside as Carly’s closest friends and sister huddled around her sipping bubbly, laughing and singing to their favorite songs while Carly’s hair was curled and pinned back to perfection. Everything was coming together exactly as she hoped, and she was anxious to get into her stunning lace gown and stand next to her best friend, Jay.
Over the last decade, Carly and Jay’s lives became intertwined – celebrating holidays together, spending time with friends, and navigating the unknown. However as they stood side by side, holding hands, they promised to love each other throughout the joys and disappointments of life, and in that moment, the two were forever intertwined. Together they hugged family, laughed with friends and soaked in the moments – big and small – as those who love them most celebrated their union.
Carly and Jay – I adore you both, and I am SO happy I was able to tell the story of your day for you guys. Everything about the day was FUN – just like you. Thank you for trusting us to document the day as we saw it unfold. Enjoy exploring Australia, and I hope to see photos of you both with kola bears! Much love and xo – Brittany
Carly’s family dog was dressed for the big day. He was a little camera shy, but I managed to snap this photo of him when he least expected it.
Carly’s Badgley Mischka shoes were to die for. I wanted them for my closet.
Carly is not only a sweet, strong woman, but she is also absolutely stunning and extremely FUN.
She was absolutely GORGEOUS.
I was so excited to spend the day with all the bridesmaids as I photographed most of them in April for Sibel and Brian’s wedding. These girls are not only beautiful, but they also know how to let loose and have a good time.
The bridesmaids looked stunning in their purple gowns. And I just loved their bouquets.
While I was spending the morning photographing the girls, Nicole hung out with Jay and his groomsmen who were complete naturals in front of the camera … and quite dapper if I must say.
Jay is laid-back, thoughtful and an all-around great guy. He looked extra handsome in his tux too.
Jay’s reaction to Carly coming down the aisle was simply perfect.
While I photograph Carly walking towards Jay, Nicole snapped this shot from behind which is always a favorite of mine.
This moment was so many years in the making and everyone was a little emotional as it unfolded (including me … yes, I tend to tear up behind my camera … )
St. Cryil Methodius in Lemont is a gorgeous church – both inside and outside.
Finally husband and wife!!!
The sun was setting as the ceremony ended, we quickly snuck outside to get the last few minutes of sunlight and it was pretty magical.
We snuck in a few more bride and groom photos when we arrived at Ruffled Feathers.
The ballroom was decorated beautifully ….
The evening began with two heartfelt speeches from Carly’s sister and Jay’s brother that also included lots of laughter. Both talked about how excited they are to have a new sister / brother join their family.
The first dance.
Guests switched between a packed dance floor (complete with selfies) and a wild photobooth all night long.
Many thanks to this amazing creative team who brought this wedding together…
