There’s something so timeless and romantic about a Cantigny Park engagement session—and Jaclyn and Ryan’s shoot was pure magic. From dreamy rose garden moments to the cameo from their Bernedoodle, this session had everything. Plus, I had the honor of photographing her sister’s wedding five years ago, so this one felt extra special.
Jaclyn and Ryan traveled from Michigan for their engagement photos, but this location holds a lot of heart for them—she grew up in the area, and Cantigny Park in Wheaton, Illinois is one of those iconic spots that’s always worth the trip.
The Cantigny Park Rose Garden in June? Holy smokes.
We timed their session perfectly—early June when the roses are in full bloom and the light is soft and golden. Every corner of Cantigny felt like a hidden gem: secret garden paths, roses in full bloom, and that glowing golden hour light streaming through the trees.
If you’re dreaming of timeless, natural engagement photos with gorgeous florals and European garden vibes? Cantigny Park is it.
Photographer tip: Try to schedule your session in late spring or early summer when the roses and gardens are at their peak. And always aim for golden hour—this light was unreal.
Even though dogs aren’t typically allowed at Cantigny, Benny was able to join us for a few photos because he’s a certified support pup (and also a total star). His fluffy face and big personality added such a fun, candid energy to the session.
If you’re hoping to include your dog in your Cantigny Park engagement session, I’d recommend reaching out to the park directly ahead of time to check on their current pet policy and permit allowances.
