It was his passion for water polo that relocated Nathan to college in Pennsylvania. Kelly, a water polo player, was studying for her special education degree, when the handsome freshman joined the men’s team.

Through occasional scrimmages against each other’s teams and a similar circle of friends, Kelly and Nathan’s paths seemed to be entwined. Kelly’s energetic charisma and easy-going nature soon captured Nathan’s heart, and he could no longer look at Kelly as merely a friend.

It was a cold night in March, when the trajectory of their relationships changed forever. Nathan volunteered to be Kelly’s designated hand warmer. He held her hand all night, ensuring that her typically cold hands, were as warm as possible. Kelly was completely smitten by his romantic ways.

In between falling in love, nurturing a long distance relationship and starting their careers, they realized life is better together. Upon graduation, Nathan moved to Chicago to be closer to Kelly and asked her to spend forever at his side.

We met in Lincoln Park for an unseasonably warm, February afternoon, however, Nathan was standing by to ensure Kelly’s hands were always toasty.

Kelly and Nathan share a love that is infectious and intoxicating.

Kelly loves Nathan’s sense of humor and that he can always make her laugh. Our shoot was full of constant laughter, which always make my heart FULL.

Kelly and Nathan will wed this October at the Armour House in Lake Forest, and I am beyond thrilled to be such an integral part of their wedding.

Nathan grew up in Texas, and he wore the most amazing, authentic Texas boots.

Even in the dead of winter, Chicago is just as beautiful.

The in between moments are always some of my favorite to capture.
