Susan and a group of friends gathered at the neighborhood bar for an evening of catching up and cocktails. At the same bar was Frank, hanging out with his buddies who happened to share mutual friends with Susan. Soon the two separate groups were mingling, and Susan found herself chatting with a handsome guy, Frank.

As they talked, it came up that she had recently lost the back cover of her cell phone. She mentioned it in casual conversation …. not thinking much of it … as they jumped around from topic to topic. It turned out that Frank actually had an extra back cover to that same phone in his car, and he offered to grab it for her so that she could have a complete phone case. Phone numbers were exchanged and the two quickly starting hanging out. What Susan wouldn’t realize until months later was that Frank had found two missing pieces in her life – the back of her cell phone, but more importantly, him.

I met Susan and Frank at Oak Street Beach for their engagement photos. We had a beautiful Chicago evening amidst the crashing waves and warm sand.

Susan and Frank had just returned from the Dominican Republic, so they had the perfect tans for beach engagement photos.

I first met Susan and Frank last year when I photographed her brother’s, Mike, wedding to my dear friend, Jenny. It is always such a fun experience for me when I get to to work with couples who I have already photographed.

These two were so sweet … not only to me …. but to each other for the whole engagement session. They radiate with happiness and love for each other, and it is intoxicating.

They are planning to get married next July, and I am so excited to be there to document their wedding day.

So much happy…. I love it!

As the sun started to set, we walked over to Ohio Street Beach to grab some photos with the skyline in the background.
