Sometimes … the universe has a funny way of working things out. Or so, I like to think. Katie and Chris first met 15 years ago when they were paired up in the wedding party of Katie’s cousin. At the time, they were both in other relationships. Life went on. They both married, started families and lived their lives. Until years later, they were both single again … and Katie’s cousin mentioned maybe they should hang out together. So they did. And they picked off right where they left off 15 years ago.

Rather than use their engagement session for just photos of the two them, Katie suggested we have a family session with her two kids and Chris’ daughter. I absolutely loved this idea because not only did it allow Katie and Chris to get used to working with me … but it allowed Annika, William and Callie to see what all these photos would be about come Katie and Chris’ wedding. We met at the Naperville Riverwalk …. the kids climbed trees, ran around and even had a little ice cream for some fun and playful photos. We had such a fun afternoon, and I am beyond excited to do it all over again in less than two weeks.
