When I found out Kevin wanted me to photograph his wedding, I was extremely flattered and so honored … and a little nervous. I have known Kevin for over 20 years because he is the older brother to one of my dear childhood friends, Karen. In a way, he was at times like the older brother I never had growing up, so I was putting the pressure on myself to make sure his wedding photographs were just perfect.
I stalked the weather weeks in advance anxious that we would have either really cold weather or a rainy wet day ….. but it ended up a perfect October day for Kevin and Amanda. The air was brisk and smelled of fall a sun the peaked through the clouds throughout the afternoon. Both seemed a little nervous as they got ready for the church, but as soon as Kevin and Amanda were hand in hand at the alter … the nerves vanished and were replaced with excitement and beaming smiles. They exchanged their vows at St. Edmunds of Oak Park – one the most beautiful churches full of gorgeous stained glass and murals.
We headed to the Frank Lloyd Wright home for some photos where we had the most gorgeous afternoon night. I was in l.o.v.e. with the location, the light, and how cute Kevin and Amanda (finally husband and wife) were. It was perfect.
Kevin and Amanda – I loved being able to document your wedding day for you both. It was so much fun to spend the time with your families and to celebrate your love for each other. I wish you both nothing but much love and happiness in the years to come. love and xo – Brittany
