The campus buzzed with the excitement of the start of the year. It was the first week of school, and freshman were eager to blend into life at Northwestern University. As Molly settled into her seat at Harris Hall, she started chatting with a few people around her, one of whom was Grant. They became fast friends in a completely platonic way – even heading to the bookstore together on that first day of class.

Months later, Grant invited Molly to a party with a group of friends. That evening changed the trajectory of their relationship when Grant realized that both he and Molly had a crush on one another. He asked her out the following day. Their first date turned into a first kiss, which turned into years of growing together and the promise of forever.

I met Molly and Grant at Northwestern where their relationship began. I like to call this location the secret garden because we had it all to ourselves (and it was insanely beautiful!)

When I first met Molly and Grant months ago, we bonded over our love of travel. Together they have explored China and Nepal, and their bucket list is as long as mine.

If I gave out awards to my clients, Molly and Grant would get the most prepared / organized award. Prior to our engagement shoot, Grant sent me a map of Northwestern with all the locations they wanted to stop at! Now as a type A planner, this had me thrilled. As a navigator … not so much … I may have gotten lost 2x during our shoot. ;)

The view of Chicago from Northwestern is beyond gorgeous, don’t you think? I may have wanted to cuddle up on that bench and soak in the view just a bit longer.

Molly and Grant are getting married this September at Ravenswood Event Center, so until then, I will leave you with this photo because it is the precursor to how much fun their wedding will be!
