Kristin and I met back in kindergarden … nearly 23 years ago. When I actually write out the number … it makes me feel a little old … and yet it makes me happy that I have had this lady in my life throughout so many growing pains and life experiences. She is my oldest friend.
And one of my best friends. We were totally obsessed with each other as kids. We used to pretend to be stuck together when our parents would pick us up at the other’s house as kids. I mean, did we really think our moms would truly believe, we were stuck together?! I guess so.
Our friendship was full of hours of playing house … which eventually turned into hours of talking about school crushes …. which later became hours of shopping at the mall and hanging out at the movies …. to our adult years of long dinners and major life decisions and changes.
Kristin is the type of friend who always tells it like it is. She is never embarrassed about what she thinks or what she says, and I have always admired how true to herself she is. More than anything, I wish I had a little more of her free-spirit and willingness to take chances. I mean she wasn’t afraid to move her whole life to California when she met “the one”. She is as loyal of a friend as they come. Oh … and she is a total blonde, bombshell. We may not talk often, but over the years, I have learned that Kristin is the friend that will always be there when you need her … especially when it comes to big news.
So when Kristin called me months ago to tell me she was pregnant, I was beyond thrilled for her and her husband, Mark. I know she will be an excellent mom to her little boy that is expected to arrive early in October. (I am still hoping he comes like 3 weeks late to be a birthday gift for me … just saying). If there was one thing Kristin was meant to be …. it was a mom.
Kris – I am SO happy for you and Mark! I have never seen two people more in love with each other than the two of you, and I know that Baby P will have the happiest, most loving home. I love you, lady, and I cannot wait to photograph your little love bug once he arrives. Lots of love and xo. Brittany
