Newborn Family Photo Outfits | What to Wear for Newborn Family Photos

I’ve been giving advice to clients on what to wear for newborn photo shoots for over nine years. I have guides that explain what outfits look best in photos, Pinterest boards full of inspirational looks, and blog posts with what past clients wore for their shoots. So when it came to picking out what to wear for our newborn photos with Greyson, you would think it would be *super* easy for me to pull together our looks.

(sigh!)

It took me nearly 3 weeks to find everything I was looking for and get it to our house in preparation for Greyson’s arrival. What I realized in being a client is that while the inspiration is super helpful, the hardest part about getting clothes for your photoshoot is actually finding what you are looking for and buying it.

I spent hours and hours hunting down options for us (many hours spent in the middle of the night thanks to my pregnancy insomnia). And I thought it might be helpful to share everything I ordered so that rather than waste precious hours looking for clothing options that would be great for your own lifestyle newborn photos, you can shop exactly what I ordered. Here is my what to wear guide for newborn photos that are all soft pastels and neutrals. These options would look gorgeous in any home and photograph beautifully.

PRO TIP : When ordering clothes for your babe, order the outfit(s) you love most in both newborn + o-3 sizes. You never know how big your baby will be and how the sizing is on the clothing until it arrives, so this way you know that you will have something that works.
