I am not sure if it gets any more romantic than a proposal at sunset on a Naples beach …. does it? There are endless options of beautiful, white sand beaches throughout Naples and proposing on the beach might be the most popular option for an engagement in Southwest Florida.

If you are thinking about proposing on the beach and you want to hire a proposal photographer to document the big moment, consider planning your proposal during sunset.

You can find the exact time the sun will set using this sunset / sunrise website. Keep in mind the time of sunset is when the sun is actually dropping, so you will have about 15 -25 minutes post sunset of light where you two can snuggle up on a blanket and soak up the fact that you are engaged.

La Playa Beach Resort Naples

La Playa is another gorgeous resort property located on Vanderbilt Beach that is a great location to propose at.

Pro Tip: Make a reservation at BALEEN which is located at La Playa for a romantic dinner, and then stroll along the beach at sunset (perhaps to the Ritz for another cocktail).

Downtown Naples

Downtown Naples is so charming. Ask your partner to take a stroll along 5th Avenue and when the moment feels right, pop the question. There are adorable restaurants like Del Mar and The Vine Room that would be great spots to grab a cocktail at along the way.

The Naples Bay Front

This charming little restaurant and shopping area is a short walk from downtown Naples and has colorful European architecture. It is nestled on a bay and has an adorable outdoor bar, Cabana Bayfront, on the water. Grab a drink at the bar, soak up the sunshine and ask the big question in front of the charming water fountain across the street.

Baker Park

Stroll through this gorgeous park to take in all the beauty of Southwest Florida. The stunning 15-acre park located on the Gordon River is the perfect way to spend the day in Naples. Pack a picnic lunch and sit on the open field or grab a kayak and enjoy the water views. Dogs are permitted here on a leash, so if you want to include your furbaby in your proposal, this park is perfect. Plus it has a dog park just across the street.

Naples Botanical Garden

If you or your partner is a plant lover or nature lover, the Naples Botanical Garden will be the perfect spot to get engaged. Naples Botanical Garden is a 170-acre, world-class garden paradise that features plants from around the world. From the tropical palm trees to the stunning cacti, there is no shortage of beautiful backdrops for your proposal. There is a $25 per person fee to enter the gardens, but I promise you that the Naples Botanical Gardens do not disappoint.

Pro Tip: The Naples Botanical Garden does a require a photo permit for professional photographers to photograph your proposal. Please contact the gardens in advance to secure a permit.

Your Favorite Naples Restaurant

Naples has no storage of yummy places to grab a fabulous meal. Book a reservation at your favorite spot and plan to propose then. If you are proposing in season (November – April), I’d suggest trying to snag a restaurant reservation at least one month in advance (if not longer) as the best places book up during the prime dinner times fast.

Is it your first time in Naples and you have no idea where to begin? Here are some ideas of restaurants that would be a perfect place to propose

+ Bayside Seafood + Grill : Located in the Venetian Bay Village, this charming restaurant overlooks the water and it known for this amazing view and delicious meals.

+ Turtle Club : If you dream of having your feet in the sand and a delicious meal, this might be the Naples restaurant for you. The Turtle Club is located just steps off the famous Vanderbilt beach.

+ D’Amicos Continental Naples – Rated one of the the best restaurants in America, this steakhouse is Old Naples won’t disappoint.

+BALEEN: Located inside La Playa, this restaurant is gorgeous and delicious. Enjoy a romantic meal together and then head to the beach for sunset.

Your Home / Hotel / Rental

The most important thing to keep in mind when proposing is to have it feel like you as a couple. If you are a type that prefer to stay in and watch a movie, consider proposing on the couch. Love to sit on the lanai and have a glass of wine, propose then. Your house, hotel or vacation rental might be the perfect spot.

Residents Beach is available to residents of Marco Island, so if you have a friend / family member that lives in Marco Island, use this spot. It’s beyond dreamy and will be more private than other beach locations.
