This is my FAVORITE location in the Chicago suburbs, and when this sweet, sweet family texted me looking for a last-minute family session with the gorgeous fall colors, I told them we *had* to shoot the next day at Mayslake … and it was worth it. I think this might be the prettiest I have ever seen it there in the fall — the wildflowers were blooming, the trees had color, the golden hour light was dreamy AND it was literally 65 degrees out in October. Basically, everything about it was perfect including this family.

Brittany, who used to own an amazing Chicago catering company, and her adorable family have become friends over the years, so it was extremely fun to spend some time watching them play with their 2-year old as they explored the forest preserve and just loved on each other. I think we captured so many sweet moments of their little family of three, and I can only hope to schedule family sessions for this exact time next year when everything about Mayslake Forest Preserve is just perfect for lifestyle family sessions.
