The universe has a way of bringing the right people into your life at the right time, and I know that is exactly what happened with Sandeesh and her adorable family. Sandeesh had reached out to me when her daughter, Mila, was turning one. Our schedules didn’t quite work, but I kept her info on my email list, and when I announced my annual mini sessions this year, Sandeesh didn’t hesitate to snag a spot.  This super cute Chicago family met me in Oak Brook at Mayslake Forest Preserve for a family maternity session, and I just loved hanging out with them.

Sandeesh warned me that Mila may not smile at all during the shoot, and I reassured her that all they had to do was have fun, and I would take care of the rest. Over the years, my approach to lifestyle family sessions has evolved from trying to get so many looking-at-the-camera-smiling photos to all the sweet little moments that happen in between. Maybe it is because I am about to become a mom in a few short months, but I find myself falling in love with the moments of my families walking together, hugging, and being in the moment so much more than the smiling at camera photo.
